I had it pointed out today that I still listen to a Diskman. Ha ha, very funny. My portable music aparatus is ancient. So what! (Tyra gonna love this ;) A friend and I went to Best Buy where we shopped laptops. I strongly considered super gluing my fingers to the keypad of one of those tiny mutherfukkers. I recently got rid of my Samsung Black Jack 2 smartphone, which turned my life into virtual insanity. I videotaped everything, fielded nearly 100 emails and texts daily, updated my websites, kept a calendar of events, saved class notes (seriously), wrote a movie treatment (no lie), and even rescued a puppy from a burning building (okay, now I'm j/k ;)... but guess what. It couldn't keep the right time for shit (rimshot).
I was consistently running off schedule because as a spoiled ass brat I got used to keeping time on my "cell phone" that wanna act brand new and be a "smart phone". So I got rid of the bitch that thought she was so smart, and broke back out my Gucci watch purchased directly from Times Square ;).... but I digress.
An iPod would change my life.
I been making mixtapes for a long time. I actually started literally recording Maxell mixtapes for my friends and family when I was in my early teens. By the time I got out of high school I had moved up to 2 ridiculous stereo systems. I could get a homie to give me a ride anywhere 'cause I always hopped in the car with a tape full of funky stuff. That's the tradition, and I'm stickin to it; but sometimes I have to give people what they want. I'm notorious for sneaking a "weird" track in between some "normal" songs. You WILL recognize "The Beatles", you must meet "The Sylvers", and you surely better not forget "Switch"!
By the time I got up to a computer other DJ's were starting to release fraudulent mixtapes -- cause they didn't mix. Even the world famous DJ Clue & Mr. FunkMaster Flex were initially commercially releasing CDs called mixtapes and them joints didn't blend. Do you remember burning CD's of your favorite songs and recent Napster downloads? Then you would play it in your car, and your homie would be like "let me burn a copy of that."
Hold on, Imma take it way back. This is for everybody born before 89. Did you ever own a zip up Case Logic tape storage bag? Ever apply invisible tape to preserve the sensitive white lettering on your favorite cassettes? You ever record a tape of the radio? When your homies liked your jams back in those days what would they say? "Let me dub that." And they get the same response, "I don't know man. This is my only copy."
Have those days passed?
I guess my old skool flavor is scared of jumping into the new millenium.
I guess it's just easier for me to access my music in the 56KB form, undilluted, Thank You very much!
And while I'm thanking people, Thank You Steve Jobs. Since the spike in sales of the newest generation of the iPod & iPhone my cd collection has experienced a stagnant 0 thefts.
The Hot Spot
It goes on and on until the break of dawn. The beat dont stop until the early morn!

Ordinary, Everyday People #1. Personal Chi.
>2/17/07- Episode 2: "Personal Chi"
On some serious shyt tho, somebody just said to me (in a ghetto prophet-like manner) "it's strange how things change and time don't wait for anyone." It reminds me of what I'm reading in "Things Fall Apart", by Chinua Achibe. It's based on African customs, where they believed in living human gods that punish you daily for your wrongs. They believe in "personal chi", which is a way of looking at your current life and blaming it on karma.
As some of us know "Top Flight" got electrocuted to DEATH. Folks gave him a hard time because he was the security guard at the parties who would be dancing crazy and trying to flirt with ladies, he was always walking somewhere in his black leather trench coat and kangol, and he wore these big ass glasses. I made fun of him too... until I started DJing and promoting and he was one of my regular venue security guards. "Top Flight" was no joke, he looked like it but he was a cool intelligent brother. He almost couldn't believe it when I would see him walking and pull over to give him a ride, because nobody was nice to him like that... they was too busy judging the book by it's cover.
It's never about what another muthafukka thinks about you. WORRY ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL CHI. Treat people the way you wanna be treated because 'time don't wait for anyone', and you might get shocked by your microwave tomorrow! Rest In Peace son.

Concerned Parent Helped Disrupt Assassination Plot, Sheriff Says
A county sheriff in Tennessee tells MyFOXMemphis.com that a call from a concerned parent helped disrupt two skinheads' alleged plot to kill Barack Obama.
A county sheriff in Tennessee says a call from a concerned parent helped disrupt an alleged plot by two skinheads to assassinate Barack Obama and kill and behead scores of blacks across the country.
Haywood County Sheriff Melvin Bond told MyFOXMemphis.com that a woman called his office worried about her daughter. "As the investigation led on, we found out who these individuals were," the Tennessee lawman said.
Paul Schlesselman, 18, of Helena-West Helena, Ark., and Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., are accused of dreaming up a plan in which they'd drive into the candidate while wearing top hats and tuxedos. They have a federal court hearing scheduled for Thursday morning in Memphis.
While authorities say the men had guns capable of creating carnage, documents show they never got close to getting off the ground.
Among the blunders: They drew attention to themselves by etching swastikas on a car with sidewalk chalk; they knew each other for only a month; they couldn't even pull off a house robbery; and a friend ratted them out to authorities.
"Certainly these men have some frightening weapons and some very frightening plans," said Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who studies the white supremacy movement. "But with the part about wearing top hats ... it gets a bit hard to take them seriously."
While authorities say that the incident may have been far-fetched, they still conjure images of the segregation era for some.
"These incidents, isolated though they are, serve as a reality check," journalist John Seigenthaler said about the arrests. The 81-year-old was U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy's administrative assistant and was attacked with the Freedom Riders anti-segregation activists during the Civil Rights era.
"Yes we've changed in significant ways, but there are those that haven't," said Seigenthaler.
The alleged plot "should serve as a low voltage electric shock. We're a new South, but there are elements of the old South still under the surface."
The Rev. James Lawson, an 80-year-old Freedom Rider who worked closely with Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement and is now a visiting distinguished professor at Vanderbilt University, said he was not surprised by this latest threat to Obama.
He said he has had conversations with fellow blacks at various places, not just the South, since Obama's candidacy began nearly two years and they have been afraid for Obama's life.
"In the black community, there's been all over the country anticipation of his being in harm's way," Lawson said. "That is a reflection of the fact that, by and large, the black community still experiences racism when it comes to access to jobs, in unemployment levels, in housing discrimination and predatory lending in housing."
The alleged plot highlights tensions that both blacks and whites say exist in Helena-West Helena, a predominantly black east Arkansas city that has struggled economically.
I think that [Schlesselman] just made a bad choice," Helena-West Helena resident Betty Hunt told MyFOXMemphis.com. "That's what I think. I feel he made a bad choice. But I don't really know him."
Mayor James Valley said he doesn't believe Schlesselman's involvement in the alleged plot indicated any organized effort by white supremacists in the city, but he said there has been at least a political tension among blacks and whites.
"The white community controls the finances and the black community here controls the ballot box, so that's where you're going to see it," said Valley, who is black.
One Helena-West Helena resident, Larry Johnston, said he was not surprised that white supremacists had been plotting to kill Obama. Johnston, who is white, said he voted for John McCain during early voting and that he didn't believe the country is ready for a black president.
"You look at all your big cities that have black mayors and you have trouble," said Johnston, 58. "That's what I'm afraid of with Obama."
Despite making sure the plot was stopped, authorities did not believe Cowart and Schlesselman had the means to carry out their threat to assassinate Obama, said a federal law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.
Asked whether the two suspects had Obama's schedule or plans to kill him at a specific time or place, a second law enforcement official who also was not authorized to speak publicly said, "I don't think they had that level of detail."
The two met online about a month ago, introduced by a friend and bound by a mutual belief in white supremacy, according to an affidavit written by a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent who interviewed them.
Schlesselman's family said Tuesday that it was unlikely he was seriously planning an attack, even though he expressed hatred for blacks. A high school dropout who was unsuccessful finding work, he often spent time on the computer, his 16-year-old sister, Kayla said. She said she often argued with him about his racial beliefs, and he would say things like "Obama would make the world suffer."
He hated his tiny Delta hometown of Helena-West Helena because it was predominantly black, she said.
"He just believes that he's the master race," she said. "He would just say things like 'white power' and 'Sieg Heil' and 'Heil Hitler."'
Comments like those and the plot uncovered are inevitable as the region still struggles with its past, said Dan Fountain, assistant professor of history at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Fountain said those views are no longer mainstream in the South, but have not completely disappeared either.
"Those people who stood in the doorways had children, and their ideas still passed on and still live on to some extent today," Fountain said.
Doug Shipman, executive director of the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, says threats to Obama and blacks in the South are remnants of the Old South, but not the face of most of today's South.
"But these kinds of feelings are harbored by individuals and will probably continue to be in the future," he said. "The political season has shown race is still a relevant issue, but it's much more complicated than in the past."

Raven (Rock of Love) Giving Witchcraft Massages on Craigslist
I can't blame her for trying to get her money, but how does witchcraft and massage services go together? I think she would have been better off without the pictures, cause they are SCARY. Tis the season for witches and goblins, but trick or treating is for kids!
I know the costume stores are gonna sell out of blonde wigs this year!!

Bristol Palin's Baby Daddy's Video Debut
Everybody needs a taste of the limelight, huh?
The father of republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's unborn grandchild's father speaks out about how Bristol plans to claim her current boyfriend as the baby's father. Apparently the Palin's feel a black baby daddy isn't good for their campaign. That they didn't know is it's probably the best thing for their campaign.... it would put them closer to black republicans who planned to turn democratic this election to support their people. And that's all she wrote....

Khia Behaving Badly on MTO! Funny Stuff.
Click on the links to expand each screen shot. Here we see Khia posing as her own fan. Then once MTO readers peep her game she admits it's her, and tries to beef with people who had posted comments about her inability to spell, repetitively underdeveloped lyrics, and low budget production.
The playlist on the right contains "Hello Brooklyn"-- notice any similarities?
In April I posted a blog regarding the top reasons why Khia sucks. If this her new video isn't reason enough go check out 10 more reason's.

Soulja Boy for President!
One day during a board meeting I decided to spice it up by eloquently shouting “Yoooh!,” to which my professional associates responded “yoooh”. This was nearly a year ago, and who would have though that Mr. DeAndre Ramone Way would be still in the game? “2008 is ova man!”, he spouts to a captive audience of youth who now actually have a positive role model to fill the void left behind when Bow Wow & Romeo grew up & lost the 'Lil'. The only difference is that Soulja Boy has not just released a platinum album... he has created a crank movement.
I bet the people who gave Papoose his advance wish they had taken the time to scout out young S.Beezy, who in 2007 had a Billboard Top 100 single and Grammy award nomination; with 2008 bringing him a shoe deal and a feud with Ice T. I’m not usually one to take sides, but I personally know that Ice T is an asshole. He’s self conscious about the fact that he’s old, and that his career didn’t exactly turn out how he envisioned. He’s not LL Cool J, or Ice Cube or even Master P. Hell, Ice T has every reason to be jealous of every rapper with skin pigmentation ;) (inside jokey joke)
In fact, I once interviewed Ice T for a radio station back in 2001. There was a press conference held for myself and my media colleagues, and I recall it in slow motion. I asked Mr. T “So, with the success of your acting career do you ever see yourself returning to the music industry?” The Ice man replied initially by telling me that he had never left the music industry and that he had recorded a hip hop/heavy metal album which sold millions on the internet. HE’S A DAMN LIE!....This is when the story went in slow motion. Icey got heated and starting speaking with his hands saying that I didn’t know what I was talking about, and hadn’t done my research. (I didn’t know you had to research a hit album). Next he knocked over his bottled water and spilled it all over his smedium sweater and leather banded, rainbow Jacob “The Jeweler” watch. It was unforgettable (obviously).
I totally understand how Ice T could hate on Soulja Boy. Hell, S. Beezie sparked the careers of several other crank groups including Camp 22, and P.O.B. (Pop It Off Boyz). I have never heard of an artist creating a dance or style so hot that several other groups copy it— and they all end up successful. Not to compare them all, I’m sure they all claim that Soulja Boy had nothing to do with their concept and that they owe nothing to the person who made a whole country recognize seemingly silly lyrics, clothing and dance moves as a work of art.
What happened to Dem Franchise Boys and my all time favorite one hit wonders D4L? I just about guarantee that both groups are somewhere hating on Soulja Boy Tell 'Em.
